The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated Reviewer. It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.
Well, this is a big week for me. My first ever Sunday Post – I’ve enjoyed reading everyone elses in the past so why not make my own. Especially since I think I’m finally starting to get the hang of this blogging thing.
Monday also marks my 30th birthday (don’t tell my husband, he thinks I’m still 25). Like any responsible adult I’m ringing in the big 3-0 at the happiest place on earth, DisneyLand, followed by a few days in Vegas for more age appropriate fun.
I can’t tell you guys how excited I am to get away from the cold and snow we’ve been having here. Saskatchewan winters are serious business.
Now to the reading, because who am I kidding, that’s what you’re here for right?

Last week I tried requesting books to review on Net Galley. I know people do it all the time, like it’s no big deal. But, I found it pretty intimidating. My blog has existed for all of a month, I don’t have much of an established following, why would any publisher agree to let me review their books? But I took a couple deep breaths and did it.
Then I made my way over to Edelweiss. A site that in my opinion isn’t exactly user friendly and requested a book from there.
It only took a few hours for me to get my first approval. My husband might have thought I lost my mind as I did my happy dance. But who cares, it felt like a really big deal. I’ve had to fight back happy dances every time I get a message saying I’m approved. Sometimes I’m not at home and it’s one thing for my husband to think I’m weird, but to the rest of the world I’m a well-adjusted adult. Nonetheless, it’s such a wonderful feeling!
